Voter Registration / Elections

Hollis residents 18 or older may register to vote in person at the Town Clerk's office.
            Regular business hours:     Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8am-1pm
                                                          Mondays 7-9pm, 1st & 3rd Tuesday of month 7-9pm
                                                          1st Saturday of month 8-11am

What to bring:
        Proof of citizenship - birth certificate, passport, or naturalization papers if naturalized citizen
        Proof of age - reasonable documentation indicating 18 years or older at the next election
        and Proof of residency - examples: vehicle registration, current postmarked mail, lease, utility bill or payroll stub with residence

Note:
In New Hampshire, no one is permitted to register to vote during the ten days prior to an election. This allows the Town Clerk time to update and print the checklists used at the polls on election day.  However, you may register to vote on Election Day at the polls. 

Primary to be held on January 10, 2012: Voting 7am-7pm at High School, sample ballots

Requesting Absentee Ballots

You may request Absentee Ballots in person or by mail.  If requesting by mail you will need to complete the State of New Hampshire Application for State Election Absentee Ballot which you can either obtain in person from the Town Clerks office or download from the Secretary of State's website.

Registering to Vote

If you need to register to vote and will be absent from town; i.e. student, away from now till Primary time, you may request the forms by mail.  The request MUST be made in writing to the Town Clerk.  You will be mailed the following documents:

New Hampshire Voter Registration Form:  Complete entire form, read and sign affidavit.  Please provide a local phone number in the space on the right (for official use) in case a Supervisor of the Checklist needs to contact you.

Qualified Voter Affidavit:  This form needs to be completed and signed in the presence of a Notary Public.

Domicile Affidavit:  This form needs to be completed and signed in the presence of a Notary Public.

Mail all three forms to the Town Clerk, 7 Monument Square, Hollis, NH 03049
