Hollis Cemetery Trustees

January 18, 2007

Attendees: Jeff Snow, Nancy Bell and Chris Buzzy

Absent: Doug Gagne - chairman and Joe Oliver

The meeting was held in the Lower Town Hall and was called to order at 6:30 pm.

Minutes

Jeff moved to approve the minutes of November 16, 2006 as submitted. Nancy seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Chris abstained

Old Business

Doug sent an e-mail to the secretary on Jan. 11, 2007 with some items for discussion.

The cemetery trustees reviewed the 2006 budget and noticed that it was not the actual year-end budget. The Trustees requested the secretary to bring the 2006 year-end budget to their next meeting. The Trustees discussed many different ideas regarding having the cemetery lots available online. The secretary agreed to speak with Dawn Desaulniers, IT Specialist, to discuss which options were available. The secretary agreed to contact the library to ask exactly what cemetery records they have available to the public. The discussion was tabled until Doug could be present.

The Trustees all agreed that an informational sign at the East Cemetery would be helpful but tabled further discussion until Doug was present.

New Business

Doug sent an e-mail to the secretary on Jan. 11, 2007 with some items for discussion.

The Trustees briefly discussed the request for the cemetery tour this summer. Jeff explained that permission from the selectmen would also be needed because it was a state law.

Chris was against the stone rubbings. Nancy agreed. In general, the Trustees had not approved requests for stone rubbing. The discussion was tabled until Doug was present.

Don Ryder entered the room and informed the Trustees that the selectmen were asking per warrant article for permission to move $25,000 from an old cemetery fund to the town’s general fund. Don explained that the money was for a land acquisition some time ago. The Trustees had no objections but asked the secretary to inquire from Paul Calabria, town accountant, what fund this was.

The Trustees did not review the rules and regulations and tabled the discussion until next month.

Jeff moved to amend the Bid Invitation to include the following. Nancy seconded and the motion unanimously passed.

The secretary agreed to review the 2006 minutes to be sure that these changes were the only possible changes discussed.
